This is a beautiful perennial plant with many fiery-red and strange looking flowers glowing along its branches. It is quite easy to germinate and to maintain, and it may flower even during the first year. For the second year you are guaranteed to have an adult plant of about 1 m. high. This plant tolerates well moderate freezing.
You should plant these seeds in autumn, provided that your climate is not excessively cold. To germinate succesfully the seeds of this plant you should carry out the cold stratification (soak the seeds for one day in water, then put them into wet sand and put them into refrigerator at about +2 +5? C for about 30 days. Allow the seeds to breathe (ventilate from time to time) and check the humidity of the sand (it tends to dry out quickly, so adding moisture every three-four days is a must). Then plant the seeds in a relatively poor substrate (for example, 1/2 sand, 1/2 tierra de hoja??). Maintain wet at all times until the sees emerge, then reduce somewhat the watering. The plant needs a lot of sun light.
